Realising Things

As Kylie Jenner once said, 2016 is the year of realising things. And that could not be any closer to the truth. September is in full swing and Summer is slowly coming to an end. This time of year, for many, is a time to reflect and to make any changes before the December festivities.

I thought that I might as well do some reflecting, myself. And well...I'm here to share it with you. Here are a few things I've come to terms with over the past year.

Practicing Patience

This is in regards to my photography but can be applied to anything that you do. Over the past two months, my skills have improved. This required lots of scrolling through Instagram and photography blogs for inspiration, reading up on tips and tricks, watching videos and getting up and actually practicing. When I didn't get it the first time, I'd get so discouraged and I'd begin to wonder why I wasted so much money on a camera that I hate so much. But I told myself to be patient. By patience, I mean understanding that I have to be realistic about the steps it's going to take to get where I want to be. I began accepting photo shoot requests as opportunities to practice more. and although wasn't going to master portrait or fashion photography in one shoot, I was slowly moving in the right direction. Eventually I'll get there.

Your Squad

" Squad means family and family means nobody gets left behind" oh tumblr...how I love your quotes.
But I've realised is that it's okay to let go. If people cut you off or you cut them off, it's okay. If people don't like you, it's okay. We can't please everyone in this world. Trying to force friendships is like watering a dead plant....it won't grow. And that's okay.

'Tis The Time To Glo Up

It's going to be so real. Apologies in advance.
And I don't mean physical glo up. Forget the clothes and the make up and the material items. I mean the inner glo up. I've realised that the only way up is to put in overtime.
Friendships, Creativity, Finances and Academics. Wait on it.
It's gonna be lit.

Major shout out to Kylie for declaring 2016 as the year for realising stuff.

Sidenote: Regarding to my last post....Thank you for the mad love on social media and the e-mails. Much appreciated.

So...what have you realised this year?
(I'm so laughing at this question)

Till next time
Peace. Love.
K xx
