From Home | Rooibos Peach Iced Tea

Rooibos Iced Tea

If there is one moment I would relive over and over again, it would be having my first sip of rooibos (red bush) tea. Let me tell you about it....This was in the early days of my childhood. Can't quite remember when, but I remember my great grandfather calling me into the living room of his oh-so homely house in Gaborone. As I sprinted down the passage, I found my little red chair perfectly placed by a table which had my afternoon meal of a polony sandwich and rooibos tea.

Without hesitation, I sat down and happily dug in. Although my tiny tongue stung a little because the liquid was a little bit above lukewarm, I enjoyed the taste.

And the rest? Well....the rest is history.

It been more or less a love affair since then. The tea and I, I mean.
To this day, I indulge in a cup of FRESHPAK Roobios tea and reflect on whatever it is that is on my mind. The anticipation of my future and the taste of the tea making me feel nostalgic is what you may call perfect juxtaposition.
I decided to remix my typical cup of tea with 127485 sugars and create something more summery to celebrate the great weather we're having in London at the moment.
Rooibos Iced Tea

For this, you'll need

  • 3 peaches , sliced
  • 2-4 teabags of FRESHPAK Roobios tea depending on how strong you want it
  • Boiling water
  • A jug
  • Honey or sugar

1) start off by boiling the peach slices in about 100ml of water to get the flavours out. Add sugar for a sweeter taste, if you wish.

2) place your teabags in the jug and add boiling water until about 3/4 of the way. Allow it to brew for 3 minutes
3) add the peach slices along with the syrupy liquid to the jug and stir well.
4) add ice and chill in the fridge

That is as simple as it gets.

This is perfect for relaxed Sunday afternoons or even days when you're entertaining guests!
Rooibos tea doesn't have any caffeine in it, so you can sip on it 24/7 without worrying about how many hours of sleep you'll be able to squeeze in.

I hope you enjoyed that little recipe.
