5 Ways To Have A Productive Lazy Sunday

Hey guys, I hope you're all well! First of all, happy Sunday! Today is the day to forget the world and all your problems and just stay in bed being lazy all day. It's all good until about 8pm when you start to feel horrible because you've wasted your day doing nothing. But...there's a way to prevent that. You can have a productive lazy Sunday.

I know this is juxtaposition on a whole new level, but it is indeed possible to have a productive lazy Sunday. This doesn't mean doing work all day. I mean doing little things to make your day a little better.

Here's how:

Catch Up With Friends/Family

We spend the whole week lost in the world of work, meaning that we have little time to talk to the important people in our lives. People live so far apart nowadays that having Sunday lunches is not always possible which can lead to losing touch all together and I'm sure you don't want that to happen. Think of Sundays as days to catch up with people. I'm not saying have 20 different deep conversations about life with people, but simple hellos and checking up on people will make them (and you) feel better.

Tidy Up

If you ever search for room decor inspiration on Pinterest like I do, you'll know the true definition of a dream room. Let's face it. Nobody's room is spotless with all white sheets 100% of the time. Nobody's. You probably have things scattered all over the floor that have accumulated over the course of the week but you've been too busy to pick them up. Use this Sunday wisely. Tidying up and dusting a little bit on a Sunday morning will have you feeling refreshed and ready for the week ahead.

Go For A Walk/Run Alone

Now, there are to benefits of doing this. You've probably heard it from millions of fitness freaks all over the internet that walking/running is good for your fitness. I'm not going to ramble on about that because I'm pretty sure you're capable of using Google, but it's true. A little bit of exercise goes a long way. But what I want to talk about is the alone part of walking/running. You spend the entire week talking to people, meetings, networking, Whatsapping, etc. Have a little time to yourself out in the open air instead of sitting in bed all day. When you're boxed in your room, you're most likely to go onto the internet (and visit my blog lol), scroll through the over-filtered Instagram pictures of people on exotic beaches and hate your life. When you're outside, breathing in the (somewhat) fresh air, you really appreciate life, you know.

Read

Not magazines. Please. Indulge in a good book. Something that will stimulate and open your mind. Something that will make you think. It doesn't have to be some long book on philosophy, but a nice short story or something inspiring will do. You'll have dozens of ideas flooding into your mind along with a sudden burst of motivation and that's exactly what you need for the week ahead. No point spending the whole of Sunday dreading Monday, now is there?

Start Your Week

I was going to say plan for your week ahead but I thought....nahh might as well start it. This doesn't mean get up and go to the office/school at 9AM, but do something that will make tomorrow easier. Being productive on a Sunday really makes the week ahead easier. Do you have a lot of emails to respond to? It would be a bit strange to send them out on a Sunday, but you can save them in drafts and send them on Monday. Boring? then do something more fun like plan your outfits for the week. Not your thing? Then go to sleep. I'm just kidding. We're trying to be productive here. Think about how you're going to tackle the Monday blues and have an awesome week ahead. Listen to good music. Find inspiration. You'll be super excited for your 6.30am alarm tomorrow!

So those are 5 ways that you can have a productive lazy Sunday. As you can see, none of these things require long periods of time away from bed, or excessive brain activity. But you'll feel like you've accomplished something at the end of the day. Yay to productive lazy Sundays!

How do you spend your Sundays? Are they productive or not so much?

Enjoy your day!

Till next time

Peace and Love.
