The Sound of Sunday: Mishon

Hey guys,

I've decided to start a weekly series called The Sound of Sunday where I share ONE song that I've been loving.....every Sunday, duh.
new hip hop music

I'm doing this because I feel like there are so many "underground" artists out there that are not getting the attention they deserve because of the over ruling mainstream industry.

I'm going to try my best to give a brief explanation of why I chose each song, but do bear in mind that I am not a musician nor do I know any "technical" music terms. I just like the songs, okay? :P

I have quite a few twitter followers that are upcoming artists. I don't know about you, but I actually check out their links (unless they spam me with DMs after I follow back. That's just annoying.)
I'll be saving the mainstream radio hits for my monthly playlists, as I do listen to mainstream music a lot.

Okay, I'm going off topic a bit. To kick of the series, I'm going to talk about this artist I found whilst I was casually browsing through Soundcloud.

Artist Name: Mishon
Song: Belong To Me
Rating: 8.5/10

I've listened to a couple of Mishon's songs that I liked. He has that R&B vibe, which is the kind of music that I enjoy the most. A majority of his songs are heartbreak and love songs, and this one is no different. I'm not complaining, as I find that the type of music he sings really suits his voice and it can really speak to your soul sometimes.

Today's Sound of Sunday is a bit more upbeat, but has those slow moments where you really appreciate the song's existence. I like this track because the beat does not drown out his voice.

I gave this song a 8.5/10 because although I LOVE the sound of it, I do not really connect with the lyrics, if you get what I mean. But for those of you who are asking yourselves "what are we?" can defnintely relate to this song, as Mishon sings about not being able to put a definite label to his supposed relationship. He assures you that even if you're not officially together, he's convinced that you belong to him. cue the awwwwws.

Check the song out:

So, what do you think?
Let me know of any songs you recommend to be on my next Sound of Sunday.

Until Next Time,

Peace and Love
