My Top 5 Blogging Resources And Tips

blogging tips

Hello all!

I hope you're all well. Can you believe 18 To Life is two months old? Just a month ago, I wrote a post about what I have learnt from one month of blogging, and here I am, a month later, still at it.

I must say, it's much harder work than one would anticipate, but I think I'm just getting started. I have so many ideas for you guys that you'll see in the coming months.

I mentioned on Twitter that I will be posting weekly, instead of three times a week. This is because with my current school schedule, creating enjoyable content will take a lot of my study time. However, I promise that a few other posts will pop up here and there, too keep things interesting, because my mind sometimes overflows with ideas that I really need to share.

make sure you follow me on twitter here for more blog updates!

Anyways, enough rambling... here is a list of resources and tips that have helped my blog.

1) BLOGGER NETWORKS

I'm sure you know of lots of blogger networks out there. The one that got my blog really going is Teenage Blogger Central , which I may have talked about in my previous blog update.
You basically fill in an application form, and they will include your blog in their next post. It's a place where teens from all around the world can share their little spaces on the internet. I have found so many cool blogs from TBC and I go back there every other day to check for new bloggers that are similar to me!

Another blogger network that I have joined is HerCampus Blogger Network. This one is only open for admission at certain times during the year, but once you're in, it's amazing. You get exposed to so many other blogs out there that are helpful, especially with college/uni life. They have groups on pinterest, facebook and other social networks that will give your blog great exposure.

2) STOCK IMAGES

I have talked about using your own images, or images free of copyright here. This is to make sure you don't get sued just for using a picture you found on Google Images.
Here is a list of websites that provide stock images, free of charge!

3) CREATING A HEADER

Look up! See my little header? This can be out little secret.... I made it on PicMonkey.
PicMonkey is also where I edit my photos. It's an amazing free site that allows you to edit and create images.
Just go to the website, click Design, choose Facebook Cover and get designing!

I'll probably do some tutorials on my next month's blog update!

4) SOCIAL MEDIA ICONS

If you have been following me for a while, you know that my social media icons used to be coloured. I did not like the look of it, so I embarked on a hunt for monchrome icons that would suit my blog. At last I found them!

5) USEFUL WEBSITES

I picked up a few tips and tricks from other bloggers and websites with a thousand times more experience than me. They have truly helped my blog become what it is today. I still have loads more work to do, but it's nice to know that I'm on my way :)
